Children's Day Celebration 2011

Our school celebrated Children’s Day on 7 October. It was an exciting day for the whole school as many pupils came dressed as their favourite superstars. The whole atmosphere was further heightened with the appearance of teachers dressed up as Charlie’s Angels, a disco dancer and Red Riding Hood.
The Children’s Day celebrations started off with a Children’s Day speech by Ms Tan and everyone singing the theme song – Semoga Bahagia, followed by the much anticipated CCPS Superstar Competition where nine groups of contestants gave their best shot to sing or dance, in a bid to win the judges’ scores and pupils’ votes.
For the fancy dress competition, our top three dressed up girls mesmerized the crowd with their interesting costumes. The prizes went to Jade Wong from 3Fa who came as Elvis Presley, Intan Nabella from 4Joy who came as Jack Sparrow and Sharen d/o Asif from 5Fa who came as Charlie Chaplin.
As the voting was going on, the crowd was entertained with baby photos of some of our teachers and a drama skit by 3 Joy. Adding to the excitement, pupils enjoyed watching a comedy skit put up by our daring teachers, Ms Ain, Ms Aidah, Ms Hazimah, Ms Aslin Wong and Ms Amelia Yeo as they shared their dream careers.
The school was kept in suspense and finally the much awaited results to the CCPS Superstar Competition were announced at the end of the concert. The top three prizes went to (in no particular order) Sheyenne Lim (1Fa) and Meg-Gayle (2 Joy), Esther Chong Sze Ting (5Fa), Umairah Nuha (5Cha) and Clarissa Tan Zi Yu (5Fa) and Anna Lim (5Cha), Fiona Ang (5Cha), Nataline Lee (5Ho) and Phyllis Soo (5Ho). Congratulations to all the winners!

There was a festive air as pupils rushed round to give presents to their teachers. The day culminated in a 2-hour long concert in which every class from Primary 1 to Primary 5 had a chance to perform for the school. From drama to ballet, from playing the keyboard to pounding hard on the drums, the day ended with a bang and heralded the start of the September holidays too!
